Karan Ahluwalia is a dual qualified solicitor in the UK, and Ireland and is currently a Senior Associate Solicitor at Liston Flavin LLP.
Karan qualified as a solicitor in April 2015 having completed his training at a leading London Medical Negligence firm. Prior to joining Liston Flavin LLP in 2022, Karan worked in a leading UK firm primarily specialising in Medical Negligence.
He has a wealth of experience advising clients in relation to medical negligence and fatal claims, ranging from complex brain injuries such as cerebral palsy, birth injuries, surgical errors, delay in diagnosis, misdiagnosis claims, cancer claims, consent claims, psychological trauma, which include attempted suicide cases, multi-disciplinary claims, and stroke claims. He has experience in bringing claims against the State, Public Medical Institutions, including hospitals, GP surgeries and care homes, and private individuals. Karan also has extensive experience in Inquest and Coronial Law. He has regularly obtained recommendations from the coroner instructing the State to look into safer working practices for the public.
Whilst working as a solicitor in the UK, Karan acted for family members who lost loved ones in the Lynx helicopter crash in Afghanistan, one of the largest Military aviation disasters in the UK’s history, and for victims of the Grenfell Tower fire, the largest structural disaster in the UK in the last 75 years.
He also has experience in representing individuals in claims against solicitors, accountants, engineers, surveyors, conveyancers, and tax advisors in relation to professional negligence.
As a result of his work in the field of Human Rights and Inquests, Karan was shortlisted for the 2013 Pro-Bono Award at the prestigious UK Law Society Excellence Awards.
